DR. VIJAENDREH SUBRAMANIAM

CONSULTANT OBSTETRICIAN AND GYNAE-ONCOLOGIST

Dr. Vijae is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynae-oncologist.  He has varied specialist areas, offering a broad range of clinical expertise for gynaecological conditions and pregnancy care. 

He graduated from the University of Malaya in 1986 and joined the Ministry of Health Malaysia.   In 1991, he commenced postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK.  He gained a postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1993. While in UK, he worked as an O&G registrar in the National Health Service at the Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. 

He returned to Malaysia in 1994 and worked as the Head of Obstetric and Gynaecology Department in Sarawak Malaysia.  In recognition of his excellence contribution to the healthcare service in Sarawak, he was bestowed the Darjah Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang, by the State Government in 1995. 

In 2006 he was sent by the Ministry Of Health Malaysia to further his sub-speciality training in Gynae Oncology in the UK.  He spent one year working at St Bartholomew Gynae Cancer Centre in London, looking after patients with cancers of the vagina, cervix, uterus and ovaries and at the same time refining his colposcopy and laparoscopy skills.  He acquired further extended training in the management of Gynaecological Cancers and Advanced Gynaecological Surgery.

Dr. Vijae pursued his interest in the field of Minimally Invasive Surgery later undertook advanced training in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) at the gynaecological cancers at Kurashiki Medical Centre in Japan under the Supervision of world reknowned MIS  expert Prof Masaaki Andou. The training covered a wide range of cutting edge surgery in the full range of complex Gynaecological surgery and in Gynae cancers.

To ensure his clinical skills are up-to-date, Dr. Vijae regularly attends seminars and is also involved in organising clinical skills workshops for training of other doctors. He has served in the Ministry of Health Malaysia for 23 years in various capacities prior to opening Dr. Vijae’s Women Clinic. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children, keeping fit, traveling and meeting people.
